This is my 3rd box of the month I got my Carmine January box last week but have forgot to photograph it, I got my Glossy Box this morning and I have to say I'm very happy with the products I've recieved, I had a little peak at others and saw two variations with mostly skin products which I'm going to be honest wasn't reallly thrilled about but was pleasantly surprised when I got mine this morning when I got a variety of samples and hey ho it wasn't all skin products I got the following

1. Eyekco Skinny Eyeliner in Plum.
I've heard of the brand but have never tried it until I got a chocolate fat eyeliner pencil in my carmine box but haven't used it yet I saw in a lot of other boxes most seems to have got pink I got a dark plum colour which is my preferable colour, if I'm honest I'm really crap at pencil eyeliner so this will probably being going in a swap but its a really nice eyeliner very pigmented.

2. Orly Mini Nail Lacquer in Ruby
Was very happy to see this love the nail brand and anything with nail varnish in is a win for me.

3. Welda One Step Cleanser and Toner
I tried Welda body wash before and is really nice, I love that this isn't just you're usually skin cream sample and will be something that I can actually use.

4. FAB Gentle Body Wash

A moisturizing body wash, never tried the brand again a body wash and I had a few in boxes which can be annoying but they are always used so I'm happy with this.

5. MURAD Skin Perfecting Primer
I love my primer I use by ELF always give me a slick finish to my make up so this will be very used, its only a 10ml sample but I ususally find a little goes a long way.

Overall I would give the box 8/10, the products all decent sizes and there is a little bit of variety of make up and skin products which I think is a good thing, it can be a bit disappointing when you see others with different products when in reality if you are paying a sub like myself you expect to have the same but like the saying goes you can't please everybody.

Feel Unique January Box 2012

My first beauty box of 2012, Feel Unique is the cheapest of the beauty boxes, they don't charge any p&p which is a good starting point for me, I'm going to be honest this box hasn't blown me away, its full of skin & hair products which are all decent sizes but I'm a bit picky with the skin products I use I hate greasy heavy creams and I'm somebody who who expected a bit more variety of products, I do prefer the make up products in the boxes, the only product I've used so far is the make up remover which was good, I hope the next box is a bit more varied, overall not my favourite box of January.

ELF Giddy Gold Blush Review

My new favourite product at the moment is a blusher by ELF called Giddy Gold its part of there studio line, its a shimmery gold shade its looks a bit peachy on but is very pigment and gives a nice finish, I got it in one of my discount hauls on ELF, I've got a few of there other blushes from the line and they are really nice quality.

I finally got hold of Rainbow connection off of eBay and I do really like it but I also do think its very over hyped I prefer the technic carnival the glitter is much smaller and easier to layer, obviously just my opinion I've got a few other glitter toppers that I'm going to review soon but if you can get hold of one its worth having in you're collection.

Nail Polishes from Debenhams and Superdrug

I ventured upstairs in my local Primark and my attention got caught by the men's section and I saw all the above tees and sweatshirts and love them so brought a few, all the bags I got in a sale and a few scarves and a cocktail ring my Primark although big was pretty bare of stuff, I had a wander in Debenhams and saw the Ruby Hammer polishes in a sale for 6 quid and I had been meaning to get them to review and swatch but they where always sold out online so was very happy to see them in stock, the beauty uk and barry m polishes I got out of Superdrug I can’t resist getting barry m polish every time I go in Superdrug they are just such lovely colours I used my sneaky 10% OFF student discount, I’m not a regular shopper in town as I hate the crowds and long queues but found some nice stuff.

Models Own Beetle Juice Collection

I’ve been meaning to post this review for ages, I brought them last month, they are beautiful monochrome nail varnishes by model owns and they are really gorgeous colours, here are the swatches below.

L-R Pinky Brown, Emerald Black, Purple Blue, Aqua Violet, Golden Green.

I really can’t say I have a definite favourite as they are such, vibrant colorful polishes I also received a free topcoat polish, I brought them for £20 off of the official Models Own website and got a free eye liner pencil, they came nicely boxed aswell.

Carmine December Box 2011

A bit late on this box I received it before xmas and was very happy with the contents.

1. Weleda Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash

Absolutely love it have been using it non stop since I got, it smells lovely and is a full sized product.

2. Institut Esthederm Time Technology Cream

A face cream, it smells very nice thankfully and is very light and not too greasy, which I hate the most about face creams and it sutiable for everbody and its a good size product.

3. Japonesque Eye Smugger Brush

This was a lovely surprise my first make up brush from the boxes, I’ve never heard of the brand before but its supposedly a high quality make up brush brand and what’s even more nice is they supplied a eye shadow to experiment blending with.

4. MyFace Cosmetics Blingtone – Sp”ice”y

A award winning eyeshadow and retails at a tenner so this is defiantly a win win product, mine is a bronze metallic colour and I will be using it in the future for sure.

5. KMS California Freeshape Quick Blow Dry

A blowing drying spray that claims to reduce your blow drying by 50% I haven’t tried this yet as I don’t always blow dry my hair as mine is very thick and a bit of task to do, I admit I let it dry naturally unless I’m going out or doing something important but anything that claims to cut time drying it well worth a go.

Overall very happy with last months box, Carmine has really impressed me with not just there service but the products they included I defiantly keeping this box as a sub.

Technic Foundation oATMEAL

I also purchased this cover foundation by technic the shade is called Oatmeal, now I love my mineral powder foundation by elf and use it loads, this bottle cost £2.49, I know really cheap for a liquid foundation so most likely going to be rubbish well I was pleasantly surprised its a nice light coverage I would say its good for a natural look and use as base cover and I'm usually fussy about liquid foundations but this wasn't bad.

Technic nail polishes review

I’ve been looking for a alternative polish to the very popular OPI Rainbow Connection and after a bit of searching I found a lot of other bloggers praising a dupe by a brand called Technic, the shade is called Carnival after a bit of searching I sourced it on a website called Love Thy Make Up and it sold a range of different polished by Technic and what made it even better was that they are ridiculous cheap at £1.25 for a 12ml bottle and p&p is only £1.50, it came within a couple of days and was securely packaged.

A dupe for the OPI ‘Rainbow Connection’ and a very good one it has small glitter particles and I found it best to layer it on one or two coats at a time to get a full burst of coverage, its work well alone or as a top coat, the second pic on the bottom left has been top coated under a rimmel black nail varnish base colour, it really is one of my favourite nail topper so far just lovely and sparkly and a very good alternative.

This one is part of a limited edition by technic, its called Be Dazzled and its like a bronze glitter colour, I think its best as a top coat over a base colour, which results in a lovely finish I think it works really well over a black base colour, I’ve not tried it on any other.

Another glitter varnish called bonanza, its a dark blue colour, its quite a pigment colour so it works as one on its own or as a top coat, with 2 coats should give a good even finish.

A rose pink glitter called Party Pink, another favourite, I think its better as a topper but can work either way.

A shade called Magenta its a darkish red colour and went on really well with two coats.

A shade called Gum Metal a more generic nail varnish, it a deep metallic grey colour, a lovely shade.

ELF NAIL POLISH–BLUSH

I wore this lovely colour Blush by ELF over the xmas period, it was a bit streaky to put on at first and took 2 coats to get a nice even finish I used a base and top coat from Nails Inc its a lovely bronze-gold colour, I got loads of Elf nail polishes in the huge discounts they have on there website they’re definitely worth checking out and for £1.50, you can’t go wrong.

OPI BEST OF THE BEST MINI SET

This I got from Buyapowa which is a price drop site or co-buy, kind of like the ones you see on TV, they have several products for sale and and as more people join the price drops, I join a co-buy for this product as I really wanted to try out OPI nail range but it is rather expensive habit, although theses are little mini polishes are only 3mls which is tiny but doesn’t really bother me as I never use products fully anyway they are a great and cheaper way to get the nail polishes without splashing out fortunes.

The RRP price on them are £27.50 but the lowest they go is £17.50 which is what I paid plus P&P, they came really quickly and I have to say I’m really please with them below are some swatches of the products, I forgot to photograph the first lot.

Another Box this brand is called Carmine, this was actually the last one I subscribed too but I received the November box instead of the December one which I’m still waiting for but I have to say I have been very impressed with their service I had a query and when I contacted them they where very quick to sort it for me, so I received my box last week and I'm very happy with it.

I’ve never heard of the brand before but its a organic body lotion and it smells lovely with Jasmine and Lavender, it has a rich texture but absorbs it very easily and leaves the skin feeling very smooth.

New CID i-pout Lipstick – Belle

Another product by New CID i-pout this time a lipstick, I received a lip gloss by the same brand in my December Jolie Box, its a shade called Belle and a lovely colour and again it has a light and little mirror to see in the dark so not just a ordinary lipstick, its also full sized.

Lulu Time Bomb Night Cream

I’ve tried this cream a few time and have to say I love it, I’m normally very fussy about face creams, I usually use a body shop spray moisturiser cause I can’t usually stand a lot of creams being very heavy and greasy but have to say this isn’t at all, I guessing when it say rewind time it might be aimed for older ladies but I would use it anyway as its make my face nice and smooth and doesn’t leave it looking greasy.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil by Nicola Roberts

A cosmetic range by Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud fame, I remember reading it was for more fairer looking girlies which I’m not just plain peachy looking skin tone, but anyway I’m not a eyeliner pencil kind of person as it always end up looking wrong, I use cream liners from Elf most of the time, but its a nice brown colour, not teal like a lot of other boxes got but I think I could use it as a eye brown instead so my give it ago, another full sized product as well.

Cosmetics A La Carte Brow Ink

The best till last this is my favourite thing out of the box, its a semi permanent eye brow ink pen and its fab, I love it so much I’ve order another box just to get another one, its full size and normally retails at £22, I think I’ve converted I usually use ELF eyebrow kit and apply them with a brush to fill in my brows but this does it so well wish I had got a better picture of it, I will do a updated picture soon with this on.

Overall I think Carmine are a good beauty box this month they’ve put in 3 full size products and they where make up not just body creams or sample perfumes, I still haven’t decided who to stay subscribed too but I have to say I think Carmine will be one of them they’ve impressed me with the products they supplied but also there service.

OPI Gold Shatter Nail Lacquer

A full size bottle of a very popular but high end brand, OPI its really a nice treat this is my first shatter effect nail polish, I've got a little mini set of OPI that I'm going to review soon and I'm really happy with this properly the best of the lot.

Mitchell and Peach Shower Wash

Its infused with natural honey, Vitamin E and wheat proteins, it smell nice its a 50ml bottle reminds me of the little hotel toiletries, it has a lavender scent which I love.

New CID Cosmetics - i gloss - baby doll

A full size lip gloss which is baby pink colour but this isn't any ordinary lip gloss it comes with a mirror on the side and a light too see in the dark when you apply your lippy you can't ask for more really, I got a lipstick version out of the carmine nov box, very happy with this product.

Jane Iredale 24 - Karat Gold Dust

A multi shimmer powder in rose gold which according to the product descrption you can apply to cheeks, eyes, lips and body even hair not bad, it is a lovely colour and very shimmery and sparkly on the skin.

Yon- KA - Vital Defense

A small tube of a anti ageing, antioxdiant and anti- pollution cream again not really my kind of thing but I'm going to give it a try the scent this time is not off putting either.

This the first of two bonus products in the box this is a detox tea of Mate, Chinese green tea and lemon grass, sounds lovely will give it to my mum

A Jolie Box concealer brush, the second bonus, which is a nice suprise don't normally see make up brushes in beauty boxes.

GlossyBox December Box 2011

Hello,

I got my first beauty box through the post a couple of days ago, I've subscribed to all the boxes for this month too see what they are like then I'm gonna decided which one I want for definite as its quite a expensive habit each month but I'm really torn as they are all fab.

I originally only subbed to Feel Unique as it got the best reviews but decided to give them all ago despites some having negative feed back from subscribers, GlossyBox is probably more of the well know beauty boxes out there

and I can say they haven't disappointed this month.

The products vary with the Glossy Box this month many people are receiving different items which at first I thought was a little unfair as people are paying the same amount and should in theory receive the same but then again there are beauty swaps groups so if you're not happy you can swap products.

Products


Rituals Foaming Shower Gel

This product is lush its called Indian Rose and Sweet Almond Oil, its a full size product at 200ml on application it looks like a clear gel but as soon as mixed with water is foams and it has a lovely scent and the smell last a while, I'm really happy with this product I would say its one of my favorites out of the box

Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle

This shade is called Razzle Dazzle and is by Deborah Lippmann, I've never heard of this brand before so its my first try of the product but it is a nice glittery shade and looks really nice, I didn't do any swatches to photograph but this nail polish will not disappoint it.

Deborah Lippmann Stripper Mitt

I'm really impressed with this little mitt, it lavender scent and it takes the nail varnish off in one application more then any nail polish remover I've ever used and is really good with Glitter polish which is particularly bothersome to get off sometimes.

Blink + Go Eyeshadow and Blush Palette

A colorful compact of eyeshadows and blush, I didn't realize there was a blush but under the eyes shadows its discreetly hidden, the eyeshadows are really pigments I'm really pleased with this, I was hoping for the mascara at first but this is gorgeous.

Cargo Cosmetics Classic Lip Gloss - Las Vegas

Another good one,its a peachy shimmery shade called Las Vegas, again never used the brand before but its got a nice consistency and give a good application.

Bionova Eye Wrinkle Treatment

I admit eye creams are not really my thing and I don't see myself using this, the smell was very off putting and didn't leave a lot to be desire, I think this is my least favourite product out of box, I might be in the minority cause it could work wonders but doesn't do anything for me.

Overall I'm very satisfied with my first box from Glossy Box and I'm going to wait and see what the January Box is like to see who I stay with but they provided decent products and I have no complaints.

Ruby Hammer Recommends: Total colour make up collection Review

I saw this gift set on sale at Debenhams and I had some money left over from a gift voucher so decided to give it a ago, its by makeup artist Ruby Hammer of the Ruby & Millie cosmetic range but this is a solo range exclusive to Debenhams a lot of the stuff consists of sets this one inparticular was called Total colour make up collection.

The set consisted of the following content;

3g palette of eyeshadow

three 1.5ml bottles of liquid eye shadows

two 8ml tubes of lip gloss

four 2.5g tubs of eyeshadow dust

12ml bottle of nail varnish

2.5ml bottle of mascaras

4.5g duo palette of blusher

2.5g palette of bronzer powder

2.5g bottle of highlighter

lg bottle of eyeliner.

Here are the make up individually.

I begin with the blusher and bronzer duo palette, it has a lovely shimmery texture and is quite lightly pigment but can give a nice coverage on top of foundation, I try to get some pics of swatches but they kept coming out too light for my camera.

Theses are two single blusher and highlighter palettes, The rosy pink blusher is lovely reminds me of one of ELF blushers I use constantly it is nicely pigment and the highlighter is very shimmery almost translucent on application.

You have three eye shadow palettes consisting of two duo colours, the eyeshadows don't have names on the packaging but I give my best description of the colours as the following 1.Metallic Grey and Light Silver, 2. Dark Purple and Violet, 3. Sand and Brown, they are a shimmery The darker metallic grey and dark purple eyeshadows are really nicely pigmented and the other would blend in really well with each other unfortunately couldn't get any swatches to do them any justice the colours are really pretty.

The nail polish is sort of a mauve colour it comes up really well when painted on but I would recommend two coats it has a nice consistency and dry pretty quick I'm even thinking of getting the nail polish set in part of the range as I was so impressed with the results so if I do I will definitely review it.

I think this is my favourite products out of the whole set its called eyeshadow dust and they are really brightly glittery pigment colours with very pretty.

Swatches L-R Red. Black Yellow and Golden

You have two small lip gloss tubes, they are a light pink and a peachy colour, they did take a bit of time to get a nice even texture on my lips.

Theses are 4 little liquid eyeshadows I don't really have a lot of knowledge of theses and if I'm honest are not my thing but they are colours.

Another favourite of mine we have a black and brown version mascara, both have lovely texture and give the eyelash a lift and a nice wide eye look.

A nice eyeliner pencil and it really pigmented not like a lot of eyeliner pencil you get that seem to go dense after the first try another good little edition to the set, it also comes with a pencil sharpener.

Overall I really like the set its has a lot of neutral tone colours but can be of use to most skin tones, I think its worth the money and it retails at £ 12.00 but is on sale for £9.60, it would make a really nice present or just as a starter kit if your just dipping your foot into the make up world there is a lot too experiment with and get different looks, I'm definitely going to check out the rest of her range.

I had a little spurge lately on nail polishes, there was a sale on at asos and I pick up theses two little beauties a Nails Inc mini set called The Show Stoppers (4ml) and another set by Barry M, When I was in superdrug the other day I also used my student discount and got 3 more Barry M polishes, The little nails inc ones are my first actual purchase from the range the other bigger ones I have I got as freebies but I love them I'm going to do some swatches of them soon to review.

Special K Nails Inc. Polish Win Review

I saw this limited edition Nails Inc. comp on the boxes of Special K packs my mum gets and decided to enter the code in at the Special K website thinking I probably won't win anything cause my luck stinks on competitions normally but I won one, I got a sneaky feeling that a lot do and it isn't just random thing.

I received the polish through the post this morning and it is really gorgeous the lid and colour are so pretty my pictures really don't do it justice the colour is called Special K Red and looks lovely on I tested in on one my false nails, If you get special K and it has the competition on the side of the box I would recommend entering cause it is a really nice colour.

Nailene 200 Full Cover Oval Nails Review

Hello, Back with another review this time false nails.

I've not had much experience in the false nail department, I had mine done professionally once by a nail technician and they where really good french nail type and wasn't too expensive, I saw a pack of Elegant Touch artificial nails in Superdrug one shopping trip and decided to give them ago and loved them but I wanted some that I could paint nail polish on so I had a look around and this brand Nailene kept getting mention a lot, I had a look on eBay and found them they had a few different types I was going to go for the petite square but feared they might be too small for my nail bed so went for Oval instead.

I got mine from this seller for a bargain price of £3.95 I think you can find them for even cheaper if you have a hunt about, they came pretty quick through the post and I was presently surprise at the quality they fitted quite well but I think I made a mistake in getting oval but they where easy to cut down to a size and shape I felt comfortable with I didn't take any pics without the nail polish on the nails but here is them below with Barry M Raspberry colour nail polish, for my first try I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Ghost Cherish & Sweetheart Perfume Review

This is my recent perfume buy from Superdrug they had a deal on last week and me being a thrifty type of girl used a discount and got them for the bargain price of £21 :) my only other experience of this perfume brand is when I got a bottle of Deep Night last Xmas which I absolutely loved but misplaced, I was going to get a bottle of it but it run out of stock so I went for theses two scents instead Sweetheart and Cherish (30ml)

Now this is the product descriptions of what it contains to give you a visual idea;

Sweetheart

Ghost Sweetheart fragrance is a feminine sensual and enchanting scent, with a modern oriental floral smell that evokes the tender sweet innocence of new found young love. Sweetheart opens with fresh notes of sweet Lemon pineapple and spearmint and is followed by a dreamy hase of white flowers. In the foot notes of this fragrance it is sensual and creates a lingering impression of romance.

Cherish

Ghost Cherish blends delicious fresh pink grapefruit with crisp green apple and the heady scent of freesia. This merges with the pretty perfume of roses, pink lotus flower and violet for a scent that is sparkling and light.

When I first tried Cherish it was a bit overpowering for me maybe its just my senses but I did get used to the smell it has a very bitterly sweet but refreshing scent I think it would be perfect to spray for a night out or use in the daytime the smell does last a while but my favourite has to be Sweetheart is lovely and light and sweet but not in a sickly kind of way very summer feel type of fragrance and would be my choice buy out of the two.

E.L.F Nail Polish Review #1

My 2nd and last review for tonight is my favorite make up brand ever E.L.F, the brand is very affordable and good quality, I admit I'm very biased as I've brought a lot and it makes up the main compass of my routine, as I've mentioned in my introduction post I've only really started to get more interested in make up in the last year or so I usually only bothered with the bare essentials so have loved being able to buy all the different colours and types of make up.

Anyway when they had there recent 40% off a few weeks ago I decided to try out there nail polish range until now I've not ordered any but they where only 90p each with the discount ( normally £1.50) so was not gonna break the bank, now my nail polish is also a bit empty until recently I have a few Nails Inc. that I got free from magazines and have tried a few Barry M colours which where all very good quality so I really wasn't not sure what to expect despite having good results in their make up theses are the colours that I purchased.;

I only sampled them in the pics above but I'm genuinely impressed by the results, the light red and coral are really pigmented and bright, the coral I think is a more salmon pink, the mint green needs a few coats to get it as pigmented as the others but reminds me of pastel candy floss colours that's been floating about lately, but out of all of them I think the coral is my favourite, the golden goddess is lovely it does look nice on its own if your not fussed but makes a lovely top coat to jazz up your nails over your usual colour it makes them really sparkly.

I thought I'll start off my first review with one my latest purchases its a sample box from a company called Latest in Beauty.

I've been seeing recently the popularity of the Beauty Boxes and I saw this on a few blogs and and me liking to try new things got me itching to get one, it wasn't super expensive just £4.95 which includes p&p, the box consists of 5 luxury samples, the boxes are I believe called 'Themed Boxes'.

I received my box a few days later and was really happy with the content there was 3 mini size travel products and two sachets this is what I received in my box;

I've used a few of the samples already the Balance Me Rose Otto body wash is lovely, it give you the smell of fresh roses and I've use it a few times already and still have plenty left.

I've never used Clarins before as its more of a high end product then my usual high street buys, I thought it was okay not really my thing but would definitely prompt me to try more from them in the future, the Nivea men gel will be given to my dad or brother but it did smell nice when I had a sniff and Nivea are a nice brand, the batiste tropical dry shampoo is another popular brand in recent years and I've tried it a few times and has always refreshed my hair and last for a few good hours I don't use it much but has never let me down yet when its been needed.

Overall I'm very happy with my buy and will be getting the next box which is called Stocking Filler and they also have a fragrance box I'm dying to try out if you like trying out new beauty products but don't want to fork out fortunes for the full size versions I would defiantly recommend getting the box.

I've subbed to the Feel Unique and Bouvior Pive beauty boxes for December to see what all the fuss is about so will also review them when they come through.

Welcome to my blog I decided to do a little blog to review all the products and hauls I've brought or received lately.

I've been getting more into make up and beauty products recently and I love trying new things I'm a bit of a minimalist when it does come to make up but getting a little more daring as I try out all the new products and I'm a avid reader of a lot of other blogs of the same concept.
